Destination: Nice, France

OUR DREAM: TO SEE FRANCE BECOME A SPRINGBOARD FOR THE GOSPEL TO THE FRENCH-SPEAKING WORLD!

CURRENTLY

  • We have been living in St Paul 3 Chateaux, a small town in the south of France for nearly two years. We moved here in January of 2006.
  • Our plan in being here has been to establish a relationship with Youth With a Mission's (YWAM) already existing training center and leadership team and to learn what lies ahead for YWAM France at large; our hope has been to make sure our vision aligns with the vision of YWAM France, which it does! This has also been a good place to ease into the culture and language, where we have other foreigners living in a community in a small town.
  • Last fall we were two of four staff running a three-month discipleship-training program here at the YWAM center. We learned a lot and mostly were fully blessed by the relationships that we developed with the students, both French and English speaking, mostly in their young 20's, some of whom are planning to join us in our pioneer work!
  • We feel we have had the time to see adequately what YWAM France's vision is, and along with the leadership team in France, believe we are ready to move ahead on our own vision…

  • LONG-TERM

  • …pioneering something new with YWAM France in Nice, a city on the southeast coast. Nice holds loads of opportunities for ministry. We hope to be involved in various kinds of evangelism and over time we hope to use Nice as a springboard for various ministries to the entire French-speaking world. We envision young French and English-speaking believers coming to train in how to effectively share their faith and/or humanitarian work and then joining us around France, Africa, and the South Pacific in outreach and assisting in long-term projects abroad, hopefully deciding to invest their lives long-term in this work. We have a passion for sharing our faith, studying and teaching the Bible, and caring for the poor and oppressed, specifically trafficked women and children.

  • At this point we need to move to Nice in order to start our work! We have met with some pastors there who are excited for us to come, and we continue to make more and more connections on our trips down there (five hours from where we are now by car/train). However, this would all be much more efficient if we could move there. Finding an affordable apartment is our current big project!
